Good News!

Well folks, we are already making some progress with our goal!  We’ve managed to get enough people together to put together a complete version of Changeman!  How will this work?  Well, we will be scrubbing the Deadfish Subs for the most part, and adding it to the Bunny Hat raws, while making minor tweaks and changes along the way to clean everything up.  Meanwhile, for the first 8 episodes, and the missing episodes 21 and 25, we will be doing those from scratch thanks to Someone new, who will be translating the Brazilian Portuguese dubs.  I know I have a few people that want to help, so they will probably help us do quality control for now, while maybe learning how to put some subtitles onto the video itself, eventually allowing us to swarm attack the scrub episodes for quicker releases.  We are hoping that by making a few releases of our own it will draw some attention to our cause and maybe we can get some more projects going!

  1. – When can we expect to see results?

    – What’s your fansubbing group going to be called?

    – How long do you think it’ll take to finish this series, and how often will you be releasing episodes?

Either way, I wish you all the best of luck!

    1. I can’t give you an exact time frame on results, but in my opening blog post I said an episode every 2 weeks would be ideal, so we’ll see what we can do. I think the first 8 episodes will take a lot longer, and then when we get to the scrubs of the dead fish subs, it will move much quicker. It also depends on how much extra help we get. As for the fansubbing group name, i don’t really think we have a specific name. I guess just use Let’s Finish Subbing Super Sentai for now, but we shall see.

      1. I think maybe abbreviation will do just fine like for example L. F. S Squad or anthing like that, just like GUIS which stands for grown ups in spandex.
Let’s Finish Subbing Super Sentai is just a damm long name to a group and it will be kind of werid to see such a long name in every episode.
But I think it will be for the best if maybe it has something to do with changeman or the project:)

  3. I could do timing if anyone wants me. I’m also semi-fluent at German, and fairly good at Italian, so potentially, if subs already exist in those languages, I could translate those into English. However, from the looks of things, the German toku fansubbing community seems non-existent, and Italian Sentai Subranger has only modern shows, that already have subs. If anyone can find completed shows subbed into German or Italian though, I’d be willing to translate them.

    1. Well it looks like Denziman and Dai Sentai Goggle-V were both broadcast in Italy, but I don´t think there are someone who had recorded it or something back then.

      1. I can’t find any trace of them online however. There are Italian subs for a few shows like Sun Vulcan and Goggle V, but only the first few episodes unfortunately.

  4. I’d be more than a little weary about doing a second-hand translation. Doing a Portuguese > English translation might not even work with the original Japanese. You’d need at least one person who knows the language to smooth out that transition.

    1. Well, essentially, there are only two episodes and a movie that have never been subbed. The rest of the series will be scrubs, so we’ll just be cleaning them up(matching type styles, grammatical fixes, yadda yadda). the first 8 episodes were done by tv-nihon, so we’ll do our best on those, and may use them as a cross reference if need be, but i’m confident we will present a good translation that will be palatable for those wanting to see the complete season. obviously, if we get a japanese translator, we could always release version 2’s with some fixes. if you know of anyone who can translate, send them our way!

      1. Unfortunately, the only other Japanese > English translators I know of are already working in other sub groups and they’re quite busy with their own projects.

    2. Well it is only two episodes and a movie we are talking about with a second-hand translation, the rest will be scrub with a little redoing on the grammar and stuff:)
But I can understand your concern for that matter, but it is better then nothing!
But remember now the ones who did the portguese subs have (I think) know some japanese… for how do these subs eventually came about… I do think they had some japanese translator on that time… and for as well the others portguess subs on the others super sentais.
